In CNC machining, the machine is programmed to do any of the jobs that would have been handled by conventional milling machines: cutting, turning, drilling, tapping, grinding, facing, knurling, threading, and the like. The result is that CNC machining can make complicated shapes with extremely high tolerance requirements, such as molds. CNC machining is also good for short runs.
